The new year has officially arrived, and I am so glad it's here! A new year always feels like a new beginning- of course, I also feel like new months are an exciting chance at a new beginning, as well. I have decided against setting new years "resolutions" this year. Instead I am going to simply have goals I want to reach this year.
I plan on focusing on my financials this year, and I volunteered to work today to kick the year off on a strong financial footing. I will get all of my credit card balances down to $0, and the only reason I will use them is for moving, and only if needed. I have a goal of adding at least $1000 to my savings account this year, and another goal of adding an extra $500 to the bank account that I pay bills from. My big non-financial goal for 2015 is to move.
Of course, I have other things that I hope to accomplish in 2015, like getting back into taking pictures. I also want to become more of a "no" person than a "yes" person. I am constantly saying "yes" to things I don't want to do, simply to avoid confrontation or upsetting other people. I don't want to do that anymore- it will help my finances to say "no" more often, and it will help my sanity, too. It's important to put others first, but it's okay to do what you want to do sometimes, too.
You can't give your all to those around you if you are burnt out, miserable, or exhausted.
2015... A new year. New goals. A new life. Goodbye and good riddance 2014! 2015, let's do this thing! :)
